Cindi Lane-Pompa, LMFT

Woman with vibrant pink hair and colorful glasses smiling outdoors.

Hi, I'm Cindi. I'm a therapist, a late bloomer, and honestly — still figuring it out.

I didn't become a therapist because I had it all together. I became one because my family was drowning, and I couldn't find anyone who really understood us. All three of my kids are AuDHD, and for years, we struggled in ways I didn't have words for yet — the meltdowns that weren't tantrums, the overwhelm that wasn't laziness, the shame that came from a world that wasn't built for brains like ours. I kept searching for support that felt truly safe and affirming, particularly in the realm of LGBTQIA+ mental health, and kept coming up empty.

So in my late 30s, I went back to school and became a licensed therapist myself. I wasn't going to let other families feel as lost as we did. What I didn't expect was how much the journey would change me. Three years ago, I was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD — as an adult. I also came out as a lesbian.

I know what it feels like to spend decades not having the language for who you are. To look back at your whole life and suddenly see it differently. To realize you've been masking, people-pleasing, and white-knuckling your way through a world that was never designed with you in mind. That's not a weakness. That's what happens when brilliant, sensitive, emotionally complex people are failed by systems that don't understand them.

WHAT THERAPY WITH ME LOOKS LIKE

I'm not going to sit across from you with a clipboard and a list of things to fix. I'm going to sit beside you — sometimes figuring things out in real time alongside you — while we gently untangle the stuff that's kept you stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself. My approach is:

✨ Neurodivergent-affirming — I don't pathologize how your brain works. We work with it.

✨ Trauma-informed — because so many neurodivergent and queer people carry wounds from years of not being understood.

✨ Skills-based and practical — I've broken coping tools down into the smallest, most manageable steps possible. No "just try harder" here.

✨ Humor-friendly — healing doesn't have to be relentlessly serious. Awkward is welcome here.

✨ Queer-affirming and LGBTQIA+ centered — your whole self belongs in this room, always.

THE SPARKLEVERSE PART

I also believe in joy as medicine. The stuffed animals, the glitter, the weird collections, the emotional support objects — that's not childish. For neurodivergent people, play, tenderness, and safe imagination are regulating. They matter.

This practice is built to be a soft landing for people whose nervous systems have been through a lot. You don't have to perform wellness here. You just have to show up.
